Episode #229: What are the benefits of ‘Internal Dreams’ relating to your Sports Career Development?

Ed Bowers

This is another  BONUS podcast which is a solo episode.

This podcast was inspired from this morning.......

This morning with fresh my fresh pineapple, orange, and apple juice I opened my emails and received a kind email from @neel_shah10 that he featured my podcast on his recent blog post about PODCASTS – MY NEW FAVORITE PASTIME (BLOG Link)

It is a great blog post about how the power of podcasts can improve our self-development not just in our careers but in other areas of life.

Yesterday, I had a wonderful podcast chat with Emilia @milovano (podcast will be out soon!) about pursuing your sports career dream.

I will be honest I am not a fan of the phase ’Sports Career Dream’ because I don’t want to think pursuing a career is sports is easy and you are working in the clouds or asleep, because relating to my sports career development I have experience a lot of nightmares/challenges along the way.

That being said I a firm believer we do have internal dreams WHY we do something, not just our careers but all walks of life.

So this quote above from Neel was one of my Internal Dreams

Let me explain.. 7 years ago whilst on an internship in London I use to do a two mile walk from Byfleet & New Haw Station to my fathers flat.

I had this idea to create a sports career resource so help people (especially Uni Sports Students) can learn from today’s experts in the sports industry so the listener can make their career in sports a reality too!

So reading Neels words really meant a lot and I hope you focus on your internal dreams because they will help you when you face those challenges or those nightmares!
